1. Don’t ever compare her to other girls, even if it’s in her favour. Just don’t do it.

2. Don’t ever say you don’t like the way she looks. Don’t tune her hair. Don’t tune her outfit, especially if she’s just dressed up for you.

3. “You’re overreacting”. Most times we are overreacting, and most times we know it. Pointing it out to us will probably make it worse.

4. “That girl is hot”. We like to think that, at least to you, we’re the hottest girl in the world. We know it’s unrealistic and we can see when you look at another girl but we really don’t need you to point it out to us. We would much rather be naive and think that we’re the only girl you’re looking at. If you think it’s a funny joke, think again. Your girlfriend will remember your “joke” and she’ll probably end up hating the hot girl you’ve pointed out.

5. “My ex always / never used to…” We don’t care what your ex always / never did. If you’re trying to get us to do something, be a man and do it properly. If you’re trying to make us feel good by pointing out the things we do that your ex didn’t, all you’re doing is reminding us that you still think about her.

6. “My mother always / never…” We are not your mother.

7. “Never mind, you wouldn’t understand anyway”. All you’re doing is making us feel stupid.

8. “I’ll call you later”. Don’t say it unless you mean it. We will remember your promise, so don’t break it.

9. “Did we have plans?” If we made plans with you, the chances are we’ve been looking forward to it all day and we’ve spent ages picking out the perfect outfit so we could impress you.

10. “I would’ve called you, but I was too busy”. Girls like to think that we are the centre of your universe. Make us feel like princesses by making that extra effort. It takes about two minutes to type out a nice SMS, so just do it. Let us know you miss us even though you’re busy.
